Israeli intervention

Before we criticise Israel too harshly let us just imagine what we would do if we were surrounded by hostile nations, besieged on a regular basis and regularly criticised by nations who cannot relate to another nation's plight.

Talk of this Israeli intervention being nothing more than political posturing highlights this incomprehension. Israel's government did not launch a war against Lebanon in 2006 for political purposes but to try and uphold Israeli sovereignty and territorial integrity. Let us bear that in mind before we talk of political posturing and heavyhandedness.
