We should be extremely worried about Gazprom’s decision to cut off Ukraine’s gas supply.

Let us not forget that tension has been simmering between the two countries ever since the Orange Revolution of late 2004. Russia’s leaders may be hoping that Gazprom’s energy execution leads to the political eradication of the Yushchenko government and the installation of a puppet government.

We must resist this all the way.
