The month ahead

What will be making headlines around the world in February?

Aside from the continuing turbulence in the global economy and tension in the social economy, I predict that the following will be amongst the month’s big stories:

—The 30th anniversary of the Iranian revolution; (1.2.2009);

—The Israeli Parliamentary elections (which will result in a narrow victory for the governing coalition) (10.2.2009); and

—The Venezuelan constitutional referendum (which, if won, will result in Presidential term limits being removed) (15.2.2009).
