Checkmate

Effectively that is the position the Israeli election result puts us in. Quite where we go from here is anyone’s guess. But two things are clear:

—this Israeli interregnum cannot continue upto the maximum constitutional limit; and

—the global demands for Israel to make ‘peace at any price’ have been roundly and rightly rejected.
