The transition seemed to be going so well. Until:
—the Blagojevich bombshell detonated; and
—Richardson blew a hole in your Cabinet by withdrawing his nomination for Commerce Secretary.
Being faced with an eye-wateringly indebted economy, two wars, a fracturing society and a broken political system would be enough for any incoming President without the distraction of personnel changes so early in the life of an administration.
