As the eyes of the world are rightly on the situation in Gaza, let us not forget that there are many actual and potential flashpoints around the world.
The tense relationship between India and Pakistan is one of these. In recent days the war of words between the two countries has escalated. This has culminated today in the comment by Inida’s PM, Manmohan Singh that the “sophistication and military precision” of the Mumbai attacks means “it must have had the support of some official agencies in Pakistan”.
We must ensure that the ratcheting rhetoric is reduced and that these nuclear powers do not even approach the cliff edge.
