Remembering

Today we remember the liberation of the Nazi death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau and the darkest chapter in European history coming to an end.

But let us also remember all those who are still persecuted for their faith, creed or gender. Let us resolve today to start to put an end to any persecution. One person suffering from persecution is too many.

Out of darkness let us resolve to light the flame of hope. That will be the greatest tribute we can give to all those who perished in the worst crime by humanity, against humanity.
